Since autumn 2018, we have been committed to a piece of land in the Swiss town of Buchs SG: the Rietli.
As the name suggests, it is a former Riet area, a moorland area that was drained around 1960 as part of fodder production. And it is also a „-li“, a small area.
Together with the pupils of the Scuola Vivante, where we were still active at that time, the idea was born to create a pond again in the Rietli. A new habitat for frogs and toads was to be created. This original idea developed into an upgrading project that has great potential.
In the last few weeks, we have updated and expanded the site that the students and the team of Scuola Vivante started. Here is a glimpse:
